The Trimester Before

Evidence-based pre-conception preparation for couples in East Valley, AZ

Why the months before conception matter…

Most people begin preparing for baby after the positive test.

But conception and baby’s early development are influenced long before that moment.

The Trimester Before exists to support the season in which health habits, lifestyle, relationships, and daily rhythms are already shaping the foundation for what comes next.

About Sidney Garcia, M.Sc.

My interest in preconception health began after my own experiences of preparing for pregnancy.

My first pregnancy was approached much like many others— with hope, but little preparation and feeling a bit lost and mystified. My second was different. I was surrounded by the right physicians, practitioners, and resources, and experienced firsthand how much more prepared, nourished, and resourced it can be to enter this season with greater intention and support.

Professionally, my background includes graduate training in cell physiology, fertility coaching, postpartum doula work, and nervous system regulation. Over the years, I have been drawn to the intersection of science, education, and the lived experience of becoming a parent.

The Trimester Before was created to support the months that often receive the least attention, yet can make a meaningful impact on the transition to parenthood: the season before conception.

For many couples, this is a time of gathering information, evaluating options, improving health habits, seeking the right medical guidance, and learning how to navigate the growing world of fertility and preconception advice. It can be exciting, overwhelming, hopeful, and uncertain all at once.

The Trimester Before exists to help couples move through that season with greater clarity, confidence, and support. I am not a physician, and this work does not replace medical care when it’s needed. My role is to help translate information into practical preparation, connect people with trusted resources, and support couples as they navigate this unique chapter.
